A Meaning-Full Approach to Leadership
Work is a challenging place. The constant demands made on us seem to outstrip the resources we can bring to bear. We are asked to accomplish more with less and to do it quicker and better than we did yesterday.
The speed of change and the uncertainty it brings increase our stress, at work and beyond the workday. Chronic levels of high stress reduce both our quality of life and our ability to meet the ever-increasing demands to perform successfully on the job.
There is a way to engage this situation that makes the workplace both more rewarding and more productive. I help leaders approach business problems as opportunities to revitalize and reconnect with what is meaningful in our work:
- Developing and using our unique gifts and talents; doing the things every day that we know we excel at;
- Putting our shoulders to the wheel in service of a goal we believe in;
- Working alongside others whom we trust and respect to accomplish something we could not do alone;
- Believing that the vision we are striving toward as a group is a noble endeavor;
- Knowing that the world is a little bit better for our having expended the effort.
The ultimate goal of leadership development is not only to create high performance in your organization, but the legacy of a more meaningful and fulfilling workplace for yourself and those you lead. In fact, you can't have one without the other. Engaging the heart of leadership requires a commitment to inner growth and reflective learning that fuels sustained peak performance.
Helping leaders walk the road of this learning journey is my mission and my passion.
